John 15: 9I have loved you, just as my Father has loved me. So remain faithful to my love for you.... 12Now I tell you to love each other, as I have loved you.... 15Servants don't know what their master is doing, and so I don't speak to you as my servants. I speak to you as my friends, and I have told you everything that my Father has told me. (CEV)
Romans 5: 10Even when we were God's enemies, he made peace with us, because his Son died for us. Yet something even greater than friendship is ours. Now that we are at peace with God, we will be saved by his Son's life. 11And in addition to everything else, we are happy because God sent our Lord Jesus Christ to make peace with us. (CEV)
Luke 12: 48...If God has been generous with you, he will expect you to serve him well. But if he has been more than generous, he will expect you to serve him even better. (CEV)
Matthew 26: 10Jesus knew what they were thinking, and he said: Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a beautiful thing for me. 11You will always have the poor with you, but you won't always have me. 12She has poured perfume on my body to prepare it for burial. 13You may be sure that wherever the good news is told all over the world, people will remember what she has done. And they will tell others. (CEV)
Luke 14: 16Jesus told him: A man once gave a great banquet and invited a lot of guests. 17When the banquet was ready, he sent a servant to tell the guests, "Everything is ready! Please come." 18One guest after another started making excuses. ... 21The servant told his master what happened, and the master became so angry that he said, "Go as fast as you can to every street and alley in town! Bring in everyone who is poor or crippled or blind or lame." 22When the servant returned, he said, "Master, I've done what you told me, and there is still plenty of room for more people." 23His master then told him, "Go out along the back roads and fence rows and make people come in, so that my house will be full. 24Not one of the guests I first invited will get even a bite of my food!" (CEV)
Romans 1: 19They know everything that can be known about God, because God has shown it all to them. 20God's eternal power and character cannot be seen. But from the beginning of creation, God has shown what these are like by all he has made. That's why those people don't have any excuse. (CEV)
Psalm 50:14I am God Most High! The only sacrifice I want is for you to be thankful and to keep your word...... 23The sacrifice that honors me is a thankful heart. Obey me, and I, your God, will show my power to save. (CEV)
1. Why does God expect gratitude in our hearts for what God and Jesus
have done for us?
2. What does God continue to do for us and how can we show our appreciation
for Him?
3. How does what your parents have done for you compare to what God
has done?
4. When we consider the wonders of nature and science all around us
who should we thank?
5. Tell how we can please God by being willing to lead a group of friends
in applying His word?

Philippians 4: 6Don't worry about anything, but pray about everything. With thankful hearts offer up your prayers and requests to God. (CEV)
Why Serve As Leaders to Help Others Find God?
Gratitude, design, purpose, hope, belief,
analogy of experience, wonder, possibilities, free will, common sense,
instinct, and God's revelation of Himself are all avenues by which we can
discover the existence of our Creator and His values. Some of these avenues
to truth are used by scientists and philosophers, but some of them are
ridiculed as wishful thinking and the source of superstition.
It's natural for children to have gratitude toward
their parents. It's just as natural for people to have gratitude and to
give thanks to their Creator. The unnatural thing is to despise God and
to deny His existence.... it is much wiser to explore what the Bible and
the Universe can teach us about Him?
God may be invisible, but He confronts us dramatically
with His wonders. We can blame Him, deny His existence, and take for granted
the wonderful things He gives to us. We can focus on the bad and completely
overlook the good and our need to feel and show gratitude.
What we recommend is that believers look at and
see the wonders of their own bodies and minds, the wonders all around them
in God's Creation, and the wonders of wisdom found in Christ. If all we
had was life, nothing could keep us from bouncing back and becoming all
that God wants us to be.
What We Really Need for Applying the Message of Christ in our lives.
Belief in God is universal where gratitude exists.
Most people naturally have gratitude for what they have received by just
being alive. We all need to develop our relationships in small groups much
as Jesus and His 12 disciples served God in a small community.
