How Do Small Groups Help Us Grow In Jesus?
Ice-Breaker:  Describe for us your goals as a young person when you were in school.

Psalm 119: 96Nothing is completely perfect, except your teachings. 97I deeply love your Law! I think about it all day.98Your laws never leave my mind, and they make me much wiser than my enemies. 99Thinking about your teachings gives me better understanding than my teachers, 100and obeying your laws makes me wiser than those who have lived a long time. (CEV)

Matthew 5: 48But you must always act like your Father in heaven. (CEV)

Romans 12: 2Don't be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him. (CEV)

1 Corinthians 12: 31I want you to desire the best gifts. So I will show you a much better way .... [That most excellent way is the way of love, 1 Corinthians chapter 13] (CEV)

2 Corinthians 12: 9...."My kindness is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak." So if Christ keeps giving me his power, I will gladly brag about how weak I am. (CEV)

Philippians 4: 8Finally, my friends, keep your minds on whatever is true, pure, right, holy, friendly, and proper. Don't ever stop thinking about what is truly worthwhile and worthy of praise. 9You know the teachings I gave you, and you know what you heard me say and saw me do. So follow my example. And God, who gives peace, will be with you. (CEV)

Colossians 1: 28We announce the message about Christ, and we use all our wisdom to warn and teach everyone, so that all of Christ's followers will grow and become mature. 29That's why I work so hard and use the mighty power he gives me. (CEV)

Colossians 2: 2I do it to encourage them. Then as their hearts are joined together in love, they will be wonderfully blessed with complete understanding. And they will truly know Christ. Not only is he the key to God's mystery, 3but all wisdom and knowledge are hidden away in him... 4I tell you these things to keep you from being fooled by fancy talk. 5Even though I am not with you, I keep thinking about you. I am glad to know that you are living as you should and that your faith in Christ is strong
