Matthew 10: 42And anyone who gives one of my most
humble followers a cup of cool water, just because that person is my follower,
will surely be rewarded. (CEV)
1. What can we do be more aware of how God uses our compassion
to bring hope to the world?
1 John 3: 17If we have all we need and see one of
our own people in need, we must have pity on that person, or else we cannot
say we love God. 18Children, you show love for others by truly
helping them, and not merely by talking about it. (CEV)
2. Why do we sometimes stray from God's way and find ourselves
neglecting other's needs?
1 John 4: 19We love because God loved us first. 20But
if we say we love God and don't love each other, we are liars. We cannot
see God. So how can we love God, if we don't love the people we can see?
(CEV)
3. When we stress the things of this world too much, how can
this affect our love for others?
Psalms 119: 129Your teachings are wonderful, and I
respect them all. 130Understanding your word brings light to
the minds of ordinary people. 131I honestly want to know everything
you teach. (CEV)
4. Why do we need to respect what the Bible teaches and desire
to know all about it?
1 Thessalonians 3: 12May the Lord make your love for
each other and for everyone else grow by leaps and bounds. (CEV)
5. What does Jesus do to keep His truth and His love available
in this evil world?
Proverbs 4: 18The lifestyle of good people is like
sunlight at dawn that keeps getting brighter until broad daylight. 19The
lifestyle of the wicked is like total darkness, and they will never know
what makes them stumble. (CEV)
6. Describe an example of how a good lifestyle actually does
shine out and glorify God.
John 11: 9Jesus answered, "Aren't there twelve hours
in each day? If you walk during the day, you will have light from the sun,
and you won't stumble. 10But if you walk during the night, you
will stumble, because you don't have any light." (CEV)
7. How is it that light and darkness so beautifully illustrate
what God wants to teach us?
