2. Why does God want us to take responsibility for our own lives yet still be led by His Spirit?

1 Corinthians 10: ²³Some of you say, "We can do whatever we want to!" But I tell you that not everything may be good or helpful. ²⁴We should think about others and not about ourselves. (CEV)
3. How does thinking about others make us helpful and correct for our natural selfishness?

Ecclesiastes 11: ⁴If you worry about the weather and don't plant seeds, you won't harvest a crop. (CEV)
4. When we start worrying and stop working, what happens to our lives?

Proverbs 19: ⁸Do yourself a favor by having good sense you will be glad you did.
Proverbs 17: ²²If you are cheerful, you feel good; if you are sad, you hurt all over. (CEV)
5. How can good common sense make us cheerful and also make us feel good?

2 Peter 3: ¹⁸Let the wonderful kindness and the understanding that come from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ help you to keep on growing. Praise Jesus now and forever! Amen.
1 Peter 4: ¹⁰Each of you has been blessed with one of God's many wonderful gifts to be used in the service of others. So use your gift well. (CEV)
6. Who helps us to know our gifts and also to use them in serving others?

Romans 6: ¹⁰When Christ died, he died for sin once and for all. But now he is alive, and he lives only for God. ¹¹In the same way, you must think of yourselves as dead to the power of sin. But Christ Jesus has given life to you, and you live for God.
