Romans 8: 13.... But you will live, if by the help
of God's Spirit you say "No" to your desires.
14Only those people who are led by God's Spirit are his
children....
17.... We will also share in the glory of Christ, because
we have suffered with him....
29.... He had decided to let them become like his own Son,
... the first of many children. (CEV)
1. Why is it wonderful that God gives us His Spirit to help
us grow into Christ's likeness?
John 6: 27Don't work for food that spoils. Work for
food that gives eternal life. The Son of Man will give you this food, because
God the Father has given him the right to do so."
28"What exactly does God want us to do?" the people asked.
29Jesus answered, "God wants you to have faith in the one
he sent." (CEV)
Romans 10: 17No one can have faith without hearing
the message about Christ. (CEV)
2. What is there about faith in Jesus that leads us to give
top priority to pleasing Him?
2 Corinthians 3: 18... And as the Spirit of the Lord
works within us, we become more and more like him and reflect his glory
even more. (NLT)
3. Describe how you can allow God's Spirit to work in you more
and more as you grow older.

and powerful thoughts?

5. When we study the Bible daily, how does that increase our
abilities to handle adversity
Philippians 3: 8Nothing is as wonderful as knowing
Christ Jesus my Lord. I have given up everything else and count it all
as garbage. All I want is Christ 9and to know that I belong
to him.... God accepted me simply because of my faith in Christ. 10All
I want is to know Christ and the power that raised him to life. I want
to suffer and die as he did, 11so that somehow I also may be
raised to life. (CEV)
James 1: 2My friends, be glad, even if you have a
lot of trouble. 3You know that you learn to endure by having
your faith tested. 4But you must learn to endure everything,
so that you will be completely mature and not lacking in anything. (CEV)
