John 4: 35You may say that there are still four months
until harvest time. But I tell you to look, and you will see that the fields
are ripe and ready to harvest. 36Even now the harvest workers
are receiving their reward by gathering a harvest that brings eternal life.
Then everyone who planted the seed and everyone who harvests the crop will
celebrate together. 37So the saying proves true, "Some plant
the seed, and others harvest the crop." 38I am sending you to
harvest crops in fields where others have done all the hard work. (CEV)
1. What did Jesus do to show His disciples how great and how
ready the harvest was?
1 Peter 3: 15Honor Christ and let him be the Lord
of your life. Always be ready to give an answer when someone asks you about
your hope. 16Give a kind and respectful answer and keep your
conscience clear.... (CEV)
Colossians 4: 5When you are with unbelievers, always
make good use of the time. 6Be pleasant and hold their interest
when you speak the message. Choose your words carefully and be ready to
give answers to anyone who asks questions. (CEV)
2. How can we develop the wisdom, courage and love for giving
good answers to others?
Matthew 5: 14You are like light for the whole world.
A city built on top of a hill cannot be hidden, 15and no one
would light a lamp and put it under a clay pot. A lamp is placed on a lampstand,
where it can give light to everyone in the house. 16Make your
light shine, so that others will see the good that you do and will praise
your Father in heaven. (CEV)
3. Why does God use His children to help people in the world
to accept and praise Him?
Matthew 9: 36When he saw the crowds, he felt sorry
for them. They were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
(CEV)
Luke 10: 2He said to them: A large crop is in the
fields, but there are only a few workers. Ask the Lord in charge of the
harvest to send out workers to bring it in. 3Now go, but remember,
I am sending you like lambs into a pack of wolves. (CEV)
4. What are some reasons that many people are confused when
it come to knowing God?
2 Peter 3: 9The Lord isn't slow about keeping his
promises, as some people think he is. In fact, God is patient, because
he wants everyone to turn from sin and no one to be lost. (CEV)
Matthew 18: 12.... if you had a hundred sheep and
one of them wandered off? Wouldn't you leave the ninety-nine on the hillside
and go look for the one that had wandered away? 13I am sure
that finding it would make you happier than having the ninety-nine that
never wandered off. 14That's how it is with your Father in heaven.
He doesn't want any of these little ones to be lost. (CEV)
