Top Priority in Marriage: Purity of Eye, Heart, & Mind
IceBreaker: Tell about the way you met your mate and how you proposed marriage.

Genesis 1: 24.... a man will leave his own father and mother. He marries a woman, and the two of them become like one person. 25Although the man and his wife were both naked, they were not ashamed. 1 Corinthians 7: 2Well, having your own husband or wife should keep you from doing something immoral. (CEV)
1. Why did God design men and women to form families with little prior training?

1 Corinthians 6: 15Don't you know that your bodies are part of the body of Christ? Is it right for me to join part of the body of Christ to a prostitute? No, it isn't! 16Don't you know that a man who does that becomes part of her body? The Scriptures say, "The two of them will be like one person." 17But anyone who is joined to the Lord is one in spirit with him.
Proverbs 14: 12You may think you are on the right road and still end up dead. (CEV)
2. What is sexual "junk food" and why does God warn against it so strongly?

Luke 11: 34Your eyes are the lamp for your body. When your eyes are good, you have all the light you need. But when your eyes are bad, everything is dark. 35So be sure that your light isn't darkness. 36If you have light, and nothing is dark, then light will be everywhere, as when a lamp shines brightly on you. (CEV)
3. How does looking at scenes that stimulate our sexual appetites easily become habitual?

Hebrews 13: 4Have respect for marriage. Always be faithful to your partner, because God will punish anyone who is immoral or unfaithful in marriage.
Proverbs 6: 27If you carry burning coals, you burn your clothes; 28 if you step on hot coals, you burn your feet. 29And if you go to bed with another man's wife, you pay the price. (CEV)
4. When we are careless with our sexual desires, how can that threaten even a good marriage?

Mark 9: 42It will be terrible for people who cause even one of my little followers to sin. Those people would be better off thrown into the ocean with a heavy stone tied around their necks. (CEV)
5. What is evil about abusing children and leading them astray that makes us & God so furious?

2 Timothy 2: 22Run from temptations that capture young people. Always do the right thing. Be faithful, loving, and easy to get along with. Worship with people whose hearts are pure.
1 Corinthians 10: 12Even if you think you can stand up to temptation, be careful not to fall. 13You are tempted in the same way that everyone else is tempted. But God can be trusted not to let you be tempted too much, and he will show you how to escape from your temptations.
Matthew 19: 26Jesus looked straight at them and said, "There are some things that people cannot do, but God can do anything." (CEV)
6. Describe how God helps us in different degrees of temptation and even in addiction.
