Luke 11: ¹⁰Everyone who asks will receive, everyone who searches will find....  ¹³As bad as you are, you still know how to give good gifts to your children. But your heavenly Father is even more ready to give the Holy Spirit to anyone who asks. (CEV)
1. Why do we and our Dads need the Holy Spirit involved in our family life?

Fathers Are Not Optional Equipment
Ephesians 6: ¹Children.... obey your parents. The first commandment with a promise says, ²"Obey your father and your mother, ³and you will have a long and happy life." ⁴Parents, don't be hard on your children. Raise them properly. Teach them and instruct them about the Lord.  (CEV)
2. Describe some ways to raise our children properly and teach them about God?

Proverbs 4: ²⁰My child, listen carefully to everything I say. ²¹Don't forget a single word, but think about it all. ²²Knowing these teachings will mean true life and good health for you. ²³Carefully guard your thoughts because they are the source of true life. (CEV)
3. How can Dads know how to serve God the way He wants us to serve?

Fathers Need To Teach Their Children & Receive Regular Feedback
2 Timothy 3: ¹⁵Since childhood, you have known the Holy Scriptures that are able to make you wise enough to have faith in Christ Jesus and be saved. ¹⁶Everything in the Scriptures is God's Word. All of it is useful for teaching and helping people and for correcting them and showing them how to live. ¹⁷The Scriptures train God's servants to do all kinds of good deeds. (CEV)
4. Why is it up to us fathers for the long term process of teaching our children right from wrong?

Hebrews 12: ¹²God will bless you, if you don't give up when your faith is being tested. He will reward you with a glorious life, just as he rewards everyone who loves him. (CEV)  1 Peter 1: ⁶So be truly glad! There is wonderful joy ahead, even though it is necessary for you to endure many trials for a while. ⁷These trials are only to test your faith, to show that it is strong and pure. (NLT)
5. How do trials equip us for life on Earth and for eternity? How did your Dad equip you?

Wise Fathering Is Essential To A Satisfying Marriage
1 John 4: ⁷My dear friends, we must love each other. Love comes from God, and when we love each other, it shows that we have been given new life. We are now God's children, and we know him. ⁸God is love.... Psalms 37:⁴Do what the LORD wants, and he will give you your heart's desire. ⁵Let the LORD lead you and trust him to help. (CEV)
6. Why do wonderful marriages, wonderful parents, and wonderful children go together.

1 Thessalonians 2: ¹¹.... we did everything for you that parents would do for their own children. ¹²We begged, encouraged, and urged each of you to live in a way that would honor God. (CEV)
7. How can we show our children to live in a way that would honor God?
