2 Kings 7: 4There's nothing to eat in the city, so
we would starve if we went inside. But if we stay out here, we will die
for sure...." 5-8That evening the four men got up and left for
the Syrian camp.... When the four men with leprosy reached the edge of
the Syrian camp, no one was there. They walked into one of the tents, where
they ate and drank, before carrying off clothes, as well as silver and
gold.... 9They said to each other, "This isn't right. Today
is a day to celebrate, and we haven't told anyone else what has happened.
If we wait until morning, we will be punished. Let's go to the king's palace
right now and tell the good news." .... 16At once the
people went to the Syrian camp and carried off what was left. They took
so much that a large sack of flour and two large sacks of barley sold for
almost nothing.... (CEV)
1. What did you make known that helped others?
Matthew 28: 19Go to the people of all nations and
make them my disciples. Baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son,
and the Holy Spirit, 20and teach them to do everything I have
told you. I will be with you always, even until the end of the world. (CEV)
2. How have you spread the word?
Mark 4: 3.... A farmer went out to scatter seed in
a field. 4While the farmer was scattering the seed, some of
it fell along the road and was eaten by birds. 5Other seeds
fell on thin, rocky ground and quickly started growing because the soil
wasn't very deep. 6But when the sun came up, the plants were
scorched and dried up, because they did not have enough roots. 7Some
other seeds fell where thornbushes grew up and choked out the plants. So
they did not produce any grain.
8But a few seeds did fall on
good ground where the plants grew and produced thirty or sixty or even
a hundred times as much as was scattered. (CEV)
1 Cor 3: 6I planted the seeds, Apollos watered them,
but God made them sprout and grow. 7What matters isn't those
who planted or watered, but God who made the plants grow. (CEV)
3. Where have you planted the Lords word and seen it grow?
Psalm 42: 1As a deer gets thirsty for streams of water,
I truly am thirsty for you, my God.
John 7: 37.... Jesus stood up and shouted, "If you
are thirsty, come to me and drink! 38Have faith in me, and you
will have life-giving water flowing from deep inside you.... (CEV)
Romans 1: 16I am proud of the good news! It is God's
powerful way of saving all people who have faith, whether they are Jews
or Gentiles. (CEV)
4. Who did you know that was thirsty for Gods word, and how did they
respond?
Luke 5: 31Jesus answered, "Healthy people don't need
a doctor, but sick people do. 32I didn't come to invite good
people to turn to God. I came to invite sinners." (CEV)
Luke 19: 10The Son of Man came to look for and to
save people who are lost." (CEV)
