Living With Passion - Stoke Up Each Other's Spiritual Fire
IceBreaker: What's the best news you heard from somebody last week?

1 Thessalonians 5: 16Always be joyful 17and never stop praying. 18Whatever happens, keep thanking God because of Jesus Christ. This is what God wants you to do. 19Don't turn away God's Spirit. (CEV)
1. Describe when someone encouraged you. How important is encouragement to you?

Acts 2: 1 On the day of Pentecost all the LORD'S followers were together in one place. 2Suddenly there was a noise from heaven like the sound of a mighty wind! It filled the house where they were meeting. 3Then they saw what looked like fiery tongues moving in all directions, and a tongue came and settled on each person there. 4The Holy Spirit took control of everyone, and they began speaking whatever languages the Spirit let them speak. (CEV)
2. In what ways does the Spirit encourage us today?

Revelation 3: 15I know everything you have done, and you are not cold or hot. I wish you were either one or the other. 16But since you are lukewarm and neither cold nor hot, I will spit you out of my mouth. 17You claim to be rich and successful and to have everything you need. But you don't know how bad off you are. You are pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. 18Buy your gold from me. It has been refined in a fire, and it will make you rich. Buy white clothes from me. Wear them and you can cover up your shameful nakedness. Buy medicine for your eyes, so that you will be able to see. (CEV)
3. Describe the type of person to whom this passage is speaking

Luke 4: 16Jesus went back to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and as usual he went to the meeting place on the Sabbath. When he stood up to read from the Scriptures, 17he was given the book of Isaiah the prophet. (CEV)
4. Describe how Jesus must have had a passion and how He encouraged people.

Hebrews 10: 24And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. 25Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (CEV)
1 Corinthians 14: 26My friends, when you meet to worship, you must do everything for the good of everyone there.... (CEV)
5. What purpose do we have for each other? What are some ways we can encourage each other?

Ephesians 6: 4Parents, don't be hard on your children. Raise them properly. Teach them and instruct them about the Lord. (CEV)
6. What is the best way to instruct children about the Lord?
