James 5: ¹⁶Make this your common practice: Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you can live together whole and healed. The prayer of a person living right with God is something powerful to be reckoned with. (MSG)
1. Why does God direct us to confess sins to others?

Proverbs 3: ⁵With all your heart you must trust the LORD and not your own judgment. ⁶Always let him lead you, and he will clear the road for you to follow. (CEV)
2. How do we always let God lead us in everything we do?

Proverbs 11: ¹⁴Without good direction, people lose their way; the more wise counsel you follow, the better your chances. (MSG)
3. What happens when we ask for God's direction but we don't follow it?

Proverbs 11: ¹⁴A city without wise leaders will end up in ruin; a city with many wise leaders will be kept safe. Proverbs 23: ¹⁹Listen to me, my children! Be wise and have enough sense to follow the right path. (CEV)
4. How do you find "wise counsel"?

Jas 1: ²³For if you just listen and don't obey, it is like looking at your face in a mirror but doing nothing to improve your appearance. ²⁴You see yourself, walk away, and forget what you look like. ²⁵But if you keep looking steadily into God's perfect law--the law that sets you free--and if you do what it says and don't forget what you heard, then God will bless you for doing it. (NLT)
5. Describe how you put into action the teachings of the Bible.

Proverbs 27: ¹⁷As iron sharpens iron, friends sharpen the minds of each other. (CEV)
Psalms 119:⁶³I choose as my friends everyone who worships you and follows your teachings. (CEV)
6. Describe a time when you helped sharpen a friend?

John 13: ³⁴"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. ³⁵By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (NIV)
7. Describe how to love others as Jesus loves us.
