Living With Passion - Serving With Spiritual Vigor
IceBreaker: Tell us what or who inspired you most when you were young.

In Touch - Matthew 17: 8When they opened their eyes, they saw only Jesus. (CEV)
2 Corinthians 4: 6The Scriptures say, "God commanded light to shine in the dark." Now God is shining in our hearts to let you know that his glory is seen in Jesus Christ. (CEV)
Hebrews 12: 2We must keep our eyes on Jesus, who leads us and makes our faith complete. He endured the shame of being nailed to a cross, because he knew that later on he would be glad he did. Now he is seated at the right side of God's throne! (CEV)
1. What is the best way for us to keep seeing Jesus' point of view

2 Peter 1: 16When we told you about the power and the return of our Lord Jesus Christ, we were not telling clever stories that someone had made up. But with our own eyes we saw his true greatness. (CEV)
2. How do clever stories about Jesus sometimes deceive us so that we lose touch with Him?

Inspire -- Mark 9: 35After Jesus sat down and told the twelve disciples to gather around him, he said, "If you want the place of honor, you must become a slave and serve others!"
Hebrews 13: 16But don't forget to help others and to share your possessions with them. This too is like offering a sacrifice that pleases God. (CEV)
3. Why and how do we inspire others when we concentrate on serving as Jesus did?

1 Peter 4: 11If you have the gift of speaking, preach God's message. If you have the gift of helping others, do it with the strength that God supplies. Everything should be done in a way that will bring honor to God because of Jesus Christ, who is glorious and powerful forever. (CEV)
Titus 1: 9They must stick to the true message they were taught, so that their good teaching can help others and correct everyone who opposes it. (CEV)
Titus 3: 8This message is certainly true. These teachings are useful and helpful for everyone. I want you to insist that the people follow them, so that all who have faith in God will be sure to do good deeds. (CEV)
4. What is required for us to really honor God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit?

Imitate -- 1 Corinthians 12: 26If one part of our body hurts, we hurt all over. If one part of our body is honored, the whole body will be happy. 27.... Each one of you is part of his body. (CEV)
Ephesians 4: 29.... Say the right thing at the right time and help others by what you say. (CEV)
5. Describe the best ways to help the body of believers to be healthy and happy.

Matthew 20: 26But don't act like them. If you want to be great, you must be the servant of all the others. 27And if you want to be first, you must be the slave of the rest. 28The Son of Man did not come to be a slave master, but a slave who will give his life to rescue many people. (CEV)
6. Who has presented to you an inspiring imitation of Christ?
