John 3: 16God loved the people of this world so much
that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who has faith in him will have
eternal life and never really die. (CEV)
2 Cor 9: 15Thank God for his gift that is too wonderful
for words! (CEV)
1. Why is it important to grow in faith, especially faith in Jesus?
John 10: 10.... I came so that everyone would have
life, and have it in its fullest. (CEV)
Hebrews 11: 1What is faith? It is the confident assurance
that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things
we cannot yet see. (NLT)
2. When in doubt how do we return to faith?
Matthew 25: 34"Then the King will say to those on
his right, "Enter, you who are blessed by my Father! Take what's coming
to you in this kingdom. It's been ready for you since the world's foundation.
35And here's why: I was hungry and you fed me, I was thirsty
and you gave me a drink, I was homeless and you gave me a room, 36I
was shivering and you gave me clothes,
I was sick and you stopped to visit, I was in prison and you came to
me.' (MSG)
3. What gives us the right to enter the Kingdom of Heaven?
Malachi 3: 10I am the LORD All-Powerful, and I challenge
you to put me to the test. Bring the entire ten percent into the storehouse,
so there will be food in my house. Then I will open the windows of heaven
and flood you with blessing after blessing. (CEV)
4. How can we receive blessings?
Acts 4: 32The group of followers all felt the same
way about everything. None of them claimed that their possessions were
their own, and they shared everything they had with each other.... 34...
Everyone who owned land or houses would sell them and bring the money 35to
the apostles. Then they would give the money to anyone who needed it. 36-37Joseph
was one of the followers who had sold a piece of property and brought the
money to the apostles.... the apostles called him Barnabas, .... "one who
encourages others." (CEV)
2 Cor 9: 7You must each make up your own mind as
to how much you should give. Don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure.
For God loves the person who gives cheerfully. (NLT)
5. What is God asking us to give?
Lk 5: 31Jesus
... spoke up, "Who needs a doctor: the healthy or the sick? 32I'm
here inviting
outsiders, not insiders--an invitation to a changed life,
changed inside and out." (MSG)
6. Describe how we can change people inside and out.
Mark 1: 17"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will
make you fishers of men." (NIV)
