Isaiah 43: 18Forget
what happened long ago! Don't think about the past. 19I
am creating something new. There it is! Do you see it? I have put roads
in deserts, streams in thirsty lands.

1. What is wonderfully new about our
hope of eternal life that we have in Christ?
Prov
15: 22Without
good advice everything goes wrong-- it takes careful planning for things
to go right. Prov 24: 10
Don't give up and be helpless in times of trouble. Prov
27: 12Be cautious
and hide when you see danger-- don't be stupid and walk right into trouble.(CEV)
2. How does God want us to plan for the
future?
Galatians 3: 3How
can you be so stupid? Do you think that by yourself you can complete what
God's Spirit started in you? 4Have
you gone through all of this for nothing? Is it all really for nothing? 5God
gives you his Spirit and works miracles in you. But does he do this because
you obey the Law of Moses or because you have heard about Christ
and have faith in him? (CEV)
3. How can we learn from our mistakes?
What does this have to do with faith in Jesus?
Prov 16: 9We
make our own plans, but the LORD decides where we will go.Prov

the trap of being a coward-- trust the LORD, and you will be safe.
Prov 4: 23Carefully guard
your thoughts because they are the source of true life. (CEV)
4. Is it possible to succeed without
God's help? Why are our thoughts so important?
Psalm 1: 1Happy
is the man who does not walk in the way sinful men tell him to, or stand
in the path of sinners, or sit with those who laugh at the truth.
2But he finds joy in the Law of the Lord and thinks about His Law
day and night. 3This man
is like a tree planted by rivers of water, which gives its fruit at the
right time and its leaf never dries up. Whatever he does will work out
well for him. (NLV)
5. What's the best way we can deal with
peer pressure?
Isaiah 42: 16I
will lead the blind on roads they have never known; I will guide them on
paths they have never traveled. Their road is dark and rough, but I will
give light to keep them from stumbling. This is my solemn promise. (CEV)Zechariah
4: 6So the angel
explained … I am the LORD All-Powerful. So don't depend on your own power
or strength, but on my Spirit. (CEV)
6. When a person feels alone, how are
they assured God is still with them?
Job 19: 14…I
am forgotten … 17My
breath disgusts my wife; everyone in my family turns away. 18Young
children can't stand me… loved ones have turned from me. 20I
am skin and bones-- just barely alive…25I
know that my Savior lives,
and at the end he will stand on this earth. (CEV)
