Amos 3: ³Can two people walk together without agreeing to meet? (CEV) Proverbs 18: ²⁴There are "friends" who destroy each other, but a real friend sticks closer than a brother. (NLT) Ephesians 5: ²¹Honor Christ and put others first. (CEV)
1. How do we find people in need of friendship?

Acts 15: ³⁶Sometime later Paul said to Barnabas, "Let's go back and visit the Lord's followers in the cities where we preached his message. Then we will know how they are doing." ³⁷Barnabas wanted to take along John, whose other name was Mark. ³⁸But Paul did not want to, because Mark had left them in Pamphylia and had stopped working with them. ³⁹Paul and Barnabas argued, then each of them went his own way. Barnabas took Mark and sailed to Cyprus, ⁴⁰but Paul took Silas and left after the followers had placed them in God's care. ⁴¹They traveled through Syria and Cilicia, encouraging the churches. (CEV)
2. When Christians do not agree- how should they resolve problems?

Matthew 13: ¹³I use stories when I speak to them because when they look, they cannot see, and when they listen, they cannot hear or understand. Job 6:¹⁴My friends, I am desperate, and you should help me, even if I no longer respect God All-Powerful. ¹⁵But you are treacherous ¹⁶as streams that swell with melting snow… (CEV)
3. How can we develop a deeper kind of listening that would give us spiritual understanding?

Proverbs 17: ²⁷It makes a lot of sense to be a person of few words and to stay calm.
Proverbs 25: ¹¹The right word at the right time is like precious gold set in silver. (CEV) 
4. Why does God want us to think before we speak?

Romans 13: ⁸Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for he who loves his fellowman has fulfilled the law. ⁹The commandments, "Do not commit adultery," "Do not murder," "Do not steal," "Do not covet," and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this one rule: "Love your neighbor as yourself." ¹⁰Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. (NIV)
5. Why is love for others a debt?

Job 2: ¹¹ When Job's three friends … heard about all the troubles that had come upon him, they set out from their homes and met together by agreement to go and sympathize with him and comfort him. ¹² When they saw him from a distance, they could hardly recognize him; they began to weep aloud, and they tore their robes and sprinkled dust on their heads. ¹³ Then they sat on the ground with him for seven days and seven nights. No one said a word to him, because they saw how great his suffering was.
6. What is the benefit of keeping quiet?
