Titus 2:11God has shown us how kind he is by
coming to save all people. 12He taught us to give up our wicked
ways and our worldly desires and to live decent and honest lives in this
world. 13We are filled with hope, as we wait for the glorious
return of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ. 14He gave himself
to rescue us from everything that is evil and to make our hearts pure.
He wanted us to be his own people and to be eager to do right.(CEV)
2. How can we be eager to do right?
Ephesians 6: 10Finally, let the mighty strength of
the Lord make you strong. 11Put on all the armor that
God gives, so you can defend yourself against the devil's tricks. 12We
are not fighting against humans. We are fighting against forces and authorities
and against rulers of darkness and powers in the spiritual world. 13So
put on all the armor that God gives. Then when that evil day comes, you
will be able to defend yourself. And when the battle is over, you will
still be standing firm. 14Be ready! Let the truth be like a
belt around your waist, and let God's justice protect you like armor. 15Your
desire to tell the good news about peace should be like shoes on your feet.
16Let
your faith be like a shield, and you will be able to stop all the flaming
arrows of the evil one. 17Let God's saving power be like a helmet,
and for a sword use God's message that comes from the Spirit. 18
Never
stop praying, especially for others. Always pray by the power of the
Spirit. Stay alert and keep praying for God's people.(CEV)
3. How can you pray for God's people?
Galatians 5: 22God's Spirit makes us loving, happy,
peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, 23gentle, and self-controlled.
There is no law against behaving in any of these ways.John
17: 3Eternal life is to know you, the only true God,
and to know Jesus Christ, the one you sent. (CEV)
4. What are the best ways to follow the Holy Spirit's guidance?
Acts 5: 41The apostles left the council and were happy,
because God had considered them worthy to suffer for the sake of
Jesus. (CEV)
5. What does it mean for you and I to be worthy to suffer?
