John 1: 12But to all who believed him and accepted
him, he gave the right to become children of God.
1. If we are saved from sin by believing in Christ, do we need to confess
our sins?
Romans 7: 11For sin, seizing the opportunity afforded
by the commandment, deceived me, and through the commandment put me to
death. 12So then, the law is holy, and the commandment is holy,
righteous and good. 13Did that which is good, then, become death
to me? By no means! But in order that sin might be recognized as sin, it
produced death in me through what was good, so that through the commandment
sin might become utterly sinful. (NIV)
2.Why does becoming Christian not remove all sin and temptation from
our lives?
Isaiah 1: 18 "Come now, let us reason together," says
the LORD . "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as
snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool. 19
If you are willing and obedient, you will eat the best from the land; 20
but if you resist and rebel, you will be devoured by the sword." For the
mouth of the LORD has spoken. (NIV)
3.What does it mean "our sins are as scarlet"?
Heb 9: 24For Christ did not enter a man-made sanctuary
that was only a copy of the true one; he entered heaven itself, now to
appear for us in God's presence. 25Nor did he enter heaven to
offer himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most
Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own. 26Then
Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world.
But now he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away
with sin by the sacrifice of himself. 27Just as man is destined
to die once, and after that to face judgment, 28so Christ was
sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear
a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are
waiting for him. (NIV)
4. Describe what happens when people hear the gospel yet reject it.
Numbers 14: 40 Early the next morning they went up
toward the high hill country. "We have sinned," they said. "We will go
up to the place the LORD promised." 41 But Moses said, "Why
are you disobeying the LORD's command? This will not succeed! 42
Do not go up, because the LORD is not with you. You will be defeated by
your enemies, 43 for the Amalekites and Canaanites will face
you there. Because you have turned away from the LORD , he will not be
with you and you will fall by the sword." 44 Nevertheless, in
their presumption they went up toward the high hill country, though neither
Moses nor the ark of the LORD's covenant moved from the camp. (NIV)
