Jesus and His Groups.
Ice-Breaker: Describe an intimate friendship you have had with several others since you were young.

Luke 2: After Passover his parents left, but they did not know that Jesus had stayed on in the city. 44They thought he was traveling with some other people, and they went a whole day before they started looking for him. 45When they could notified him with their relatives and friends, they went back to Jerusalem and started looking for him there. 46Three days later they found Jesus sitting in the temple, listening to the teachers and asking them questions. 47Everyone who heard him was surprised at how much he knew and at the answers he gave. 48 When his parents found him, they were amazed. His mother said, "Son, why have you done this to us? Your father and I have been very worried, and we have been searching for you!" 49Jesus answered, "Why did you have to look for me? Didn't you know that I would be in my Father's house?" 50But they did not understand what he meant. (CEV)

Matthew 4: While Jesus was walking along the shore of Lake Galilee, he saw two brothers. One was Simon, also know nas Peter, and the other was Andrew. They were fishermen, and they were casting their net into the lake. 19Jesus said to them, "Come with me! I will teach you how to bring in people instead of fish." 20Right then the two brothers dropped their nets and went with him. 21Jesus walked on until he saw James and John, the sons of Zebedee. They were in a boat with their father, mending their nets. Jesus asked them to come with him too. 22Right away they left the boat and their father and went with Jesus. (CEV)

Mark 3: 14Then he chose twelve of them to be his apostles, so that they could be with him. He also wanted to send them out to preach  (CEV)

Mark 3: 21When Jesus' family heard what he was doing, they thought he was crazy and went to get him under control. (CEV)

Mark 3: 31Jesus' mother and brothers came and stood outside. Then they sent someone with a message for him to come out to them. 32The crowd that was sitting around Jesus told him, "Your mother and your brothers and sisters are outside and want to see you." 33Jesus asked, "Who is my mother and who are my brothers?" 34Then he looked at the people sitting around him and said, "Here are my mother and my brothers. 1. What makes us want to help others we associate with come to know how wonderful Jesus is?
2. How do we become the fathers, mothers, brothers, and sisters of Jesus today?
3. Why did Jesus ask His mother "Why did you have to look for me? Didn't you know that I would be in my Father's house?"
4. When we meet together regularly and talk about our experiences as Jesus followers, what happens?
