1 Timothy 4: 8For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. (NIV)
2 Peter 1: 3We have everything we need to live a life that pleases God. It was all given to us by God's own power, when we learned that he had invited us to share in his wonderful goodness. 4God made great and wonderful promises, so that his nature would become part of us. Then we could escape our evil desires and the corrupt influences of this world. 5Do your best to improve you faith. You can do this by adding goodness, understanding, 6self-control, patience, devotion to God, 7concern for others, and love. 8If you keep growing in this way, it will show that what you know about our Lord Jesus Christ has made your lives useful and meaningful. (CEV)
2 Peter 3: 9The LORD isn't slow about keeping his promises, as some people think he is. In fact, God is patient, because he wants everyone to turn from sin and no one to be lost..... 13 But God has promised us a new heaven and a new earth, where justice will rule. We are really looking forward to that! (CEV)
Psalm 85: 8I will listen to you, LORD God, because you promise peace to those who are faithful and no longer foolish. (CEV)
Psalm 119: 50When I am hurting, I find comfort in
your promise that leads to life....
116Be true to your word, LORD. Keep me alive and strong;
don't let me be ashamed because of my hope.
140Your word to me, your servant, is like pure gold; I treasure
what you say.
148I lie awake at night, thinking of your promises. (CEV)
Psalm 145: 13.... Our LORD, you keep your word and do everything you say. (CEV)
Acts 2: 38Peter said, "Turn back to God! Be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, so that your sins will be forgiven. Then you will be given the Holy Spirit. 39This promise is for you and your children. It is for everyone our LORD God will choose, no matter where they live." (CEV)
