2 Peter 1: ³We have everything we need to live a life that pleases God. It was all given to us by God's own power, when we learned that he had invited us to share in his wonderful goodness. ⁴God made great and wonderful promises, so that his nature would become part of us. Then we could escape our evil desires and the corrupt influences of this world. ⁵Do your best to improve you faith. You can do this by adding goodness, understanding, ⁶self-control, patience, devotion to God, ⁷concern for others, and love. ⁸If you keep growing in this way, it will show that what you know about our Lord Jesus Christ has made your lives useful and meaningful. (CEV)

2 Peter 3: ⁹The LORD isn't slow about keeping his promises, as some people think he is. In fact, God is patient, because he wants everyone to turn from sin and no one to be lost..... ¹³ But God has promised us a new heaven and a new earth, where justice will rule. We are really looking forward to that!  (CEV)

Psalm 85: ⁸I will listen to you, LORD God, because you promise peace to those who are faithful and no longer foolish. (CEV)

Psalm 119: ⁵⁰When I am hurting, I find comfort in your promise that leads to life....
¹¹⁶Be true to your word, LORD. Keep me alive and strong; don't let me be ashamed because of my hope.
¹⁴⁰Your word to me, your servant, is like pure gold; I treasure what you say.
¹⁴⁸I lie awake at night, thinking of your promises. (CEV)

Psalm 145: ¹³.... Our LORD, you keep your word and do everything you say. (CEV)

Acts 2: ³⁸Peter said, "Turn back to God! Be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, so that your sins will be forgiven. Then you will be given the Holy Spirit. ³⁹This promise is for you and your children. It is for everyone our LORD God will choose, no matter where they live."  (CEV)

1. What promise does God's Spirit give to all people, no matter what race or nationality?
2. Why is it important to respect God's patience, and His promises for the life to come?
3. What happens if we spoil our bodies and neglect the goals in the Spirit's message?
