John 6: ⁴⁰My Father wants everyone who sees the Son to have faith in him and to have eternal life. (CEV)

1 John 5: ⁴Every Child of God can defeat the world, and our faith is what gives us this victory. ⁵No one can defeat the world without having faith in Jesus as the Son of God. (CEV)

1 Peter 1: ⁵You have faith in God, whose power will protect you until the last day. Then he will save you, just as he has always planned to do... ⁷Your faith will be like gold that has been tested in a fire. And these trials will prove that your faith is worth much more than gold that can be destroyed. They will show that you will be given praise and honor and glory when Jesus Christ returns...
²¹And when he did come, it was to lead you to have faith in God, who raised him from death and honored him in a glorious way. That's why you have put your faith and hope in God. (CEV)

Hebrews 3: ¹⁴We were sure about Christ when we first became his people. So let's hold tightly to our faith until the end. (CEV)

Hebrews 11: ¹Faith makes us sure of what we hope for and gives us proof of what we cannot see. ²It was their faith that made our ancestors pleasing to God. ³Because of our faith, we know that the world was made at God's command. We also know that what can be seen was made out of what cannot be seen...
    ⁶But without faith no one can please God. We must believe that God is real and that he rewards everyone who searches for him...
    ¹⁶But they were looking forward to a better home in heaven. That's why God wasn't ashamed for them to call him their God. He even built a city for them. (CEV)

Hebrews 12: ³So keep your mind on Jesus, who put up with many insults from sinners. Then you won't get discouraged and give up... (CEV)

Hebrews 13: ¹⁴On this earth we don't have a city that lasts forever, but we are waiting for such a city. (CEV)

James 2: ²⁶Anyone who doesn't breathe is dead, and faith that doesn't do anything is just as dead!  (CEV)

1. How do hope, trust, and faith relate to each other? Why are they all important?
2. Why do we who believe in Jesus have no real stake in this world? Where is our home?
3. What proof is there that our faith is reliable? What hope and proof do unbelievers have?
4. How can a group of believers strengthen our faith and hope in God's promises?
