Matthew 4: 4.."No one can live only on food. People need every word that God has spoken.'" Matthew 6: 22Your eyes are like a window for your body. When they are good, you have all the light you need. 23But when your eyes are bad, everything is dark. (CEV)
Matthew 13: 10Jesus' disciples ... asked, "Why do you use nothing but stories when you speak to the people?" 11Jesus answered: "... 12Everyone who has something will be given more. But people who don't have anything will lose even what little they have. 13I use stories when I speak to them because when they look, they cannot see, and when they listen, they cannot hear or understand. 14So God's promise came true, just as the prophet had said, "These people will listen and listen, but never understand. They will look and look, but never see. 15All of them have stubborn minds! Their ears are stopped up, and their eyes are covered. They cannot see or hear or understand." (CEV)
John 15: 2He [the Father] cuts away every branch of
mine that doesn't produce fruit. But he trims clean every branch that does
produce fruit, so that it will produce even more fruit...
7Stay joined to me and let my teachings
become part of you. Then you can pray for whatever you want, and your prayer
will be answered. 8When you become fruitful disciples of mine,
my Father will be honored. (CEV)
John 17: 24Father, I want everyone you have given me to be with me, wherever I am. Then they will see the glory that you have given me, because you loved me before the world was created. 25Good Father, the people of this world don't know you. But I know you, and my followers know that you sent me. 26I told them what you are like, and I will tell them even more . Then the love that you have for me will become part of them, and I will be one with them. (CEV)
James 1: 22Obey God's message! Don't fool yourselves by just listening to it. 23If you hear the message and don't obey it, you are like people who stare at themselves in a mirror 24and forget what they look like as soon as they leave. 25But you must never stop looking at the perfect law that sets you free. God will bless you in everything you do, if you listen and obey, and don't just hear and forget. (CEV)
