Isaiah 40: ³¹But those who trust the Lord will find new strength. They will be strong like eagles soaring upward on wings; they will walk and run without getting tired. (CEV)

Ephesians 4: ⁸...he led away many prisoners and gave gifts to people." ⁹When it says, "he went up," it means that Christ had been deep in the earth. ¹⁰This also means that the one who went deep into the earth is the same one who went into the highest heaven, so that he would fill the whole universe. ¹¹Christ chose some of us to be apostles, prophets, missionaries, pastors, and teachers, ¹²so that his people would learn to serve and his body would grow strong. ¹³This will continue until we are united by our faith and by our understanding of the Son of God. Then we will be mature, just as Christ is, and we will be completely like him. ¹⁴We must stop acting like children. We must not let deceitful people trick us by their false teachings, which are like winds that toss us around from place to place. ¹⁵Love should always make us tell the truth. Then we will grow in every way and be more like Christ, the head ¹⁶of the body. Christ holds it together and makes all of its parts work perfectly, as it grows and becomes strong because of love. its work. (CEV)

Matthew 5: ³God blesses those people who depend only on him. They belong to the kingdom of heaven! ⁴God blesses those people who grieve. They will find comfort! ⁵God blesses those people who are humble. The earth will belong to them! ⁶God blesses those people who want to obey him more than to eat or drink. They will be given what they want! ⁷God blesses those people who are merciful. They will be treated with mercy! ⁸God blesses those people whose hearts are pure. They will see him! ⁹God blesses those people who make peace. They will be called his children! ¹⁰God blesses those people who are treated badly for doing right. They belong to the kingdom of heaven. ¹¹God will bless you when people insult you, mistreat you, and tell all kinds of evil lies about you because of me. ¹²Be happy and excited! You will have a great reward in heaven. People did these same things to the prophets who lived long ago.(CEV)

1 Corinthians 13: ⁴Love is kind and patient, never jealous, boastful, proud, ⁵or rude. Love isn't selfish or quick tempered. It doesn't keep a record of wrongs that other do. ⁶Love rejoices in the truth, but not in evil. ⁷Love is always supportive, loyal, hopeful, and trusting. (CEV)

Galatians 5: ²²God's Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, ²³gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways. (CEV)

James 3: ¹⁷But the wisdom that comes from above leads us to be pure, friendly, gentle, sensible, kind, helpful, genuine, and sincere. ¹⁸When peacemakers plant seeds or peace, they will harvest justice. (CEV)

1. When Christ helps us, how do we know what to do, how to use His gifts?
2. How does the Spirit enable us to show our love for each other and for God and Jesus?
3. Why does God expect us to produce fruit of the Spirit and develop our spiritual strengths?
4. How do we learn to know and use our strengths and gifts when we meet together?
