Matthew 13: 10Jesus' disciples came to him and asked,"Why do you use nothing but stories when you speak to the people?" 11 Jesusanswered: "I have explained the secrets about the kingdom of heaventoyou, but not to others. 12Everyone who has something will begiven more. But people who don't have anything will lose even what littlethey have. 13I use stories when I speak to them because whentheylook, they cannot see, and when they listen, they cannot hear or understand.14So God's promise came true, just as the prophet had said,"Thesepeople will listen and listen, but never understand. Mark 3: 33Jesus asked, "Who is my mother and who are my brothers?" 34Then he looked at the people sitting around him and said, "Here are my mother and my bothers. 35Anyone who obeys God is my brother or sister or mother." (CEV)

Luke 10: 38The Lord and his disciples were traveling along and came to a village. When they got there, a woman named Marthawelcomed them into her home. 39She had a sister named Mary,who sat down in front of the Lord and was listening to what he said. 40Martha was worried about all that had to be done. Finally, she went to Jesus and said, "Lord, doesn't it bother you that my sister has left me to do allthe work by myself? Tell her to come and help me!" 41TheLord answered, "Martha, Martha! You are worried and upset about so manythings, 42but only one thing is necessary. Mary has chosen whatis best, and it will not be taken away from her." (CEV)
John 15: 1...I am the true vine, and my Fatheris the gardener. 2He cuts away every branch of mine that doesn'tproduce fruit. But he trims clean every branch that does produce fruit,so that it will produce even more fruit...7Stay joined to meand let my teachings become part of you.
