Romans 12: ¹² Dear friends, God is good. So I beg you to offer your bodies to him as a living sacrifice, pure and pleasing. That's the most sensible way to serve God. ²Don't be like the people of this world, but let God change the way you think. Then you will know how to do everything that is good and pleasing to him. (CEV)

Romans 5: ⁶Christ died for us at a time when we were helpless and sinful.... ¹⁰Even when we were God's enemies, he made peace with us, because his Son died for us. Yet something even greater than friendship is ours. Now that we are at peace with God, we will be saved by his Son's life. (CEV)

1 Corinthians 10: ³¹When you eat or drink or do anything else, always do it to honor God.  (CEV)

2 Corinthians 12: ⁹But he replied, "My kindness is all you need. My power is strongest when you are weak." So if Christ keeps giving me his power, I will gladly brag about how weak I am. ¹⁰Yes, I am glad to be weak or insulted or mistreated ... if it is for Christ. Because when I am weak, I am strong. (CEV)

Luke 9: ⁵⁹Jesus told someone else to come with him. But the man said, "LORD, let me wait until I bury my father." ⁶⁰Jesus answered, "Let the dead take care of the dead, while you go and tell about God's kingdom." ⁶¹Then someone said to Jesus, "I want to go with you, LORD, but first let me go back and take care of things at home." ⁶²Jesus answered, "Anyone who starts plowing and keeps looking back isn't worth a thing to God's kingdom!"  (CEV)

Matthew 6: ³²... Your Father in heaven knows that you need all of these [food, drink, and clothing]. ³³But more than anything else, put God's work first and do what he wants. Then the other things will be yours as well.  (CEV)

Colossians 3: ¹¹Yet Christ is all that matters, and he lives in all of us. ¹²God loves you ... So be gentle, kind, humble, meek, and patient... ¹⁵... And be grateful. ¹⁶Let the message about Christ completely fill your lives, while you use all your wisdom to teach and instruct each other. (CEV)

1. What is something even greater than God's friendship and peace that saves us from evil?
2. Who should work at filling their lives with every word in the message about Christ?
3. When we put God's work first, what happens to the food, and other things that we need?
4. How does each of us really learn what is good, pleasing and most honoring to God?
5. Why did Jesus tell people to follow Him and let others take care of things at home?
6. Explain how your children and/or your relatives actually honor God by the way they live.
