John 17: ³Eternal life is to know you, the only true God, and to know Jesus Christ, the one you sent. ⁴I have brought glory to you here on earth by doing everything you gave me to do. (CEV)
1. Describe what this knowing of God and Jesus means.

John 15: ⁷Stay joined to me and let my teachings become part of you. Then you can pray for whatever you want, and your prayer will be answered. ⁸When you become fruitful disciples of mine, my Father will be honored. (CEV)
2. If I pray for a new house and a new car, what can I expect?

John 15: ¹²Now I tell you to love each other, as I have loved you. ¹³The greatest way to show love for friends is to die for them. ¹⁴And you are my friends, if you obey me. ¹⁵.... I speak to you as my friends, and I have told you everything that my Father has told me. (CEV)
3. When are we most like Jesus? How can we know Him daily and personally?

John 15: ²⁶I will send you the Spirit who comes from the Father and shows what is true. The Spirit will help you and will tell you about me. ²⁷Then you will also tell others about me, because you have been with me from the beginning. (CEV)
4. If we don't accept the joint witnessing of the Apostles and the Spirit, what will persuade us?

Luke 12: ³²My little group of disciples, don't be afraid! Your Father wants to give you the kingdom.(CEV)
Acts 2: ⁴¹On that day about three thousand believed his message and were baptized. ⁴²They spent their time learning from the apostles, and they were like family to each other. They also broke bread and prayed together.... ⁴⁴All the LORD'S followers often met together, and they shared everything they had.... ⁴⁶Day after day they met together in the temple. They broke bread together in different homes and shared their food happily and freely, ⁴⁷while praising God. (CEV)
5. Why didn't this communal sharing continue? How can we spend time together as they did?

John 6: ²⁷Don't work for food that spoils. Work for food that gives eternal life. The Son of Man will give you this food, because God the Father has given him the right to do so." ²⁸"What exactly does God want us to do?" the people asked. ²⁹Jesus answered, "God wants you to have faith in the one he sent."(CEV)
John 7: ³⁷.... Jesus .... shouted, "If you are thirsty, come to me and drink! ³⁸Have faith in me, and you will have life-giving water flowing from deep inside you, just as the Scriptures say." ³⁹Jesus was talking about the Holy Spirit, who would be given to everyone that had faith in him.... (CEV)
6. Compare physical bread and water with the bread and water that Jesus promises.
