Luke 6: 38If you give to others, you will be given
a full amount in return. It will be packed down, shaken together, and spilling
over into your lap. The way you treat others is the way you will be treated.
Proverbs
19: 17Caring for the poor is lending to the LORD, and you
will be well repaid. (CEV)
1. How can we be good stewards or managers of what we own?
Luke 16: 9My disciples, I tell you to use wicked wealth
to make friends for yourselves. Then when it is gone, you will be welcomed
into an eternal home. 10Anyone who can be trusted in little
matters can also be trusted in important matters. But anyone who is dishonest
in little matters will be dishonest in important matters. Acts 4:34....
no one went in need of anything. Everyone who owned land or houses would
sell them and bring the money 35to the apostles. Then they would
give the money to anyone who needed it.
36-37Joseph was one
of the followers who had sold a piece of property and brought the money
to the apostles. He was a Levite from Cyprus, and the apostles called him
Barnabas, which means "one who encourages others." (CEV)
2. How can we be honest and real with ourselves, and how does this
encourage others?
Acts 20: 33I have never wanted anyone's money or clothes.
34You
know how I have worked with my own hands to make a living for myself and
my friends. 35By everything I did, I showed how you should work
to help everyone who is weak. Remember that our Lord Jesus said, "More
blessings come from giving than from receiving." (CEV)
3. Why could Paul be able to write such letters of encouragement while
in jail?
Matthew 19: 24In fact, it's easier for a camel to
go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to get into God's
kingdom." .... 27Peter replied, "Remember, we have left everything
to be your followers! What will we get?".... 29All who have
given up home or brothers and sisters or father and mother or children
or land for me will be given a hundred times as much. They will also have
eternal life. (CEV)
4. What can rich people do to know that they have eternal life?
Luke 16: 14The Pharisees really loved money. So when
they heard what Jesus said, they made fun of him. 15But Jesus
told them: You are always making yourselves look good, but God sees what
is in your heart. The things that most people think are important are worthless
as far as God is concerned. Matthew 16: 26What will you
gain, if you own the whole world but destroy yourself? What would you give
to get back your soul? (CEV)
5. When is it too late to gain your soul's salvation?
