Isaiah 53: 4He suffered and endured great pain for
us, but we thought his suffering was punishment from God. 5He
was wounded and crushed because of our sins; by taking our punishment,
he made us completely well. (CEV)
1. How does Jesus' suffering make us completely well?
Genesis 2: 25Although the man and his wife were both
naked, they were not ashamed.
Genesis 3: 8Late in the afternoon a breeze began
to blow, and the man and woman heard the LORD God walking in the garden.
They were frightened and hid behind some trees. 9The LORD called
out to the man and asked, "Where are you?" 10The man answered,
"I was naked, and when I heard you walking through the garden, I was frightened
and hid!" (CEV)
2. Why does God know all of our secrets?
Proverbs 20: 19Stay away from gossips they tell everything.
Proverbs
13: 3Keep what you know to yourself, and you will be safe;
talk too much, and you are done for. (CEV)
3. Who can we trust, and how do we know?
2 Corinthians 3: 13We are not like Moses. His face
was shining, but he covered it to keep the people of Israel from seeing
the brightness fade away. Ephesians 4: 25We are part
of the same body. Stop lying and start telling each other the truth. (CEV)
4. What are some differences between Moses and Paul as God's servants?
John 15: 15.... I don't speak to you as my servants.
I speak to you as my friends, and I have told you everything that my Father
has told me. Matthew 26: 37Jesus took along Peter and
the two brothers, James and John. He was very sad and troubled, 38and
he said to them, "I am so sad that I feel as if I am dying. Stay here and
keep awake with me." (CEV)
5. How can we best comfort those in deep sorrow and suffering?
James 5: 16If you have sinned, you should tell each
other what you have done. Then you can pray for one another and be healed.
The prayer of an innocent person is powerful, and it can help a lot. (CEV)
6. When you are sick, how does this affect the health of your relationship
with God?
1 Corinthians 13: 12Now all we can see of God is like
a cloudy picture in a mirror. Later we will see him face to face. We don't
know everything, but then we will, just as God completely understands us.
Colossians
3: 10Each of you is now a new person. You are becoming more
and more like your Creator, and you will understand him better. (CEV)
7. Describe some ways for us to become more like our Creator. How are
