Deuteronomy 6: 5So love the LORD your God with all
your heart, soul, and strength.
6Memorize his laws 7and
tell them to your children over and over again. Talk about them all the
time, whether you're at home or walking along the road or going to bed
at night, or getting up in the morning. (CEV)
1. How are children affected
when they don't learn the Bible or memorize verses?
Joshua 24: 15But if you don't want to worship the
LORD, then choose right now! Will you worship the same idols your ancestors
did? .... My family and I are going to worship and obey the LORD! (CEV)
2. What decision did most of the people make?
Proverbs 17: 6Grandparents are proud of their grandchildren,
and children should be proud of their parents. Proverbs 13: 22If
you obey God, you will have something to leave your grandchildren. If you
don't obey God, those who live right will get what you leave.... 24If
you love your children, you will correct them; if you don't love them,
you won't correct them. (CEV)
3. How does a large inheritance affect the lives of children?
Proverbs 22: 6Teach your children right from wrong,
and when they are grown they will still do right.... 13Don't
fail to correct your children. You won't kill them by being firm...
Proverbs
19: 18Correct your children before it's too late; if you
don't punish them, you are destroying them. Proverbs 29: 17If
you correct your children, they will bring you peace and happiness. (CEV)
5. Why is it best to start a child telling the truth when the child
is young?
Matthew 18: 2Jesus called a child over and had the
child stand near him. 3Then he said:
I promise you this. If you don't change and become like a child, you
will never get into the kingdom of heaven. 4But if you are as
humble as this child, you are the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. 5And
when you welcome one of these children because of me, you welcome me. (CEV)
6. Why did Jesus choose a child to illustrate the attitudes that He
wants us to have?
Romans 8: 14Only those people who are led by God's
Spirit are his children. 15God's Spirit doesn't make us slaves
who are afraid of him. Instead, we become his children and call him our
Father. 16God's Spirit makes us sure that we are his children. (CEV)
