1 Corinthians 15: 3I told you the most important part
of the message exactly as it was told to me. That part is: Christ died
for our sins, as the Scriptures say. 4He was buried, and three
days later he was raised to life, as the Scriptures say. 5Christ
appeared to then to the twelve. 6After this, he appeared to
more than five hundred other followers. Most of them are still alive, but
some have died. 7He also appeared to James, and then to all
of the apostles. 8Finally, he appeared to me, even though I
am like someone who was born at the wrong time..(CEV)
1. Why are the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus all very important
to our lives?
1 Corinthians 15: 54The bodies we now have are weak
and can die. But they will be changed into bodies that are eternal. Then
the Scriptures will come true, "Death has lost the battle!
55Where
is its victory? Where is its sting?" 56Sin is what gives death
its sting, and the Law is the power behind sin. 57But thank
God for letting our Lord Jesus Christ give us the victory! (CEV)
2. How does Christ's Life affect you on a daily basis?
1 John 3: 2My dear friends, we are already God's children,
though what we will be hasn't yet been seen. But we do know that when Christ
returns, we will be like him, because we will see him as he truly is. 3This
hope makes us keep ourselves holy, just as Christ is holy. 1 John 4:17If
we truly love others and live as Christ did in this world, we won't be
worried about the day of judgment. 18A real love for others
will chase those worries away. The thought of being punished is what makes
us afraid. It shows that we have not really learned to love. (CEV)
3. Describe how the hope of resurrection comforts you.
1 John 5: 1If we believe that Jesus is truly Christ,
we are God's children. Everyone who loves the Father will also love his
children. 2If we love and obey God, we know that we will love
his children. 3We show our love for God by obeying his commandments,
and they are not hard to follow. 4Every child of God can defeat
the world, and our faith is what gives us this victory. 5No
one can defeat the world without having faith in Jesus as the Son of God. (CEV)
4. What are three things or persons that witness to Jesus Christ?
1 Peter 2: 21After all, God chose you to suffer as
you follow in the footsteps of Christ, who set an example by suffering
for you.... 24Christ carried the burden of our sins. He was
nailed to the cross, so that we would stop sinning and start living right.
By his cuts and bruises you are healed. 25You had wandered away
like sheep. Now you have returned to the one who is your shepherd and protector.
2
Peter 1: 3We have everything we need to live a life that
pleases God. It was all given to us by God's own power, when we learned
that he had invited us to share in his wonderful goodness. 4God
made great and marvelous promises, so that his nature would become part
of us. Then we could escape our evil desires and the corrupt influences
of this world. (CEV)

we need" for life?
