John 11: 25Jesus then said, "I am the one who raises
the dead to life! Everyone who has faith in me will live, even if they
die. 26And everyone who lives because of faith in me will never
really die. Romans 1: 3-4This good news is about his
Son, our Lord Jesus Christ! As a human, he was from the family of David.
But the Holy Spirit proved that Jesus is the powerful Son of God, because
he was raised from death. Matthew 28: 18Jesus came to
them and said: I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth! (CEV)
1. Explain: Will we have more or less authority in Heaven?
John 10: 18No one takes my life from me. I give it
up willingly! I have the power to give it up and the power to receive it
back again, just as my Father commanded me to do. Mark 10: 33We
are now on our way to Jerusalem where the Son of Man will be handed over
to the chief priests and the teachers of the Law of Moses. They will sentence
him to death and hand him over to foreigners, 34who will make
fun of him and spit on him. They will beat him and kill him. But three
days later he will rise to life. (CEV)
2. When will we get our new spiritual bodies, at death or 3 days later?
Matthew 28: 5The angel said to the women, "Don't be
afraid! I know you are looking for Jesus, who was nailed to a cross. 6He
isn't here! God has raised him to life, just as Jesus said he would. Come,
see the place where his body was lying. Romans 10: 9So
you will be saved, if you honestly say, "Jesus is Lord," and if you believe
with all your heart that God raised him from death. John 3: 17God
did not send his Son into the world to condemn its people. He sent him
to save them! (CEV)
3. When did you begin to see God saving you rather than condemning
you?
Ephesians 1: 19I want you to know about the great
and mighty power that God has for us followers. It is the same wonderful
power he used 20when he raised Christ from death and let him
sit at his right side in heaven. 21There Christ rules over all
forces, authorities, powers, and rulers. He rules over all beings in this
world and will rule in the future world as well. Philippians 4:13Christ
gives me the strength to face anything. (CEV)
4. What do we learn from Paul about contentment and giving and receiving
help?
John 17: 1After Jesus had finished speaking to his
disciples, he looked up toward heaven and prayed: Father, the time has
come for you to bring glory to your Son, in order that he may bring glory
to you. 2And you gave him power over all people, so that he
would give eternal life to everyone you give him. 3Eternal life
is to know you, the only true God, and to know Jesus Christ, the one you
sent. 1 Peter 1: 3Praise God, the Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ. God is so good, and by raising Jesus from death, he has given
us new life and a hope that lives on.4God has something stored
up for you in heaven, where it will never decay or be ruined or disappear. (CEV)
5. What does Peter mean by God has given us a new life that lives on?
