Matthew 28: 20.... I will be with you always, even
until the end of the world. Hebrews 13: 5 .... The Lord
has promised that he will not leave us or desert us. 6That should
make you feel like saying, "The Lord helps me! Why should I be afraid of
what people can do to me?" (CEV)
1. How does this promise make you feel.
Psalm 1: 1God blesses those people who refuse evil
advice and won't follow sinners or join in sneering at God. 2Instead,
the Law of the LORD makes them happy, and they think about it day and night.
Psalms 3: 5I sleep and wake up refreshed because you,
LORD, protect me. (CEV)
2. What do you do, when you can’t sleep?
Psalms 127: 2It is useless to get up early and stay
up late in order to earn a living. God takes care of his own, even while
they sleep. Ephesians 4: 26Don't get so angry that you
sin. Don't go to bed angry... Psalms 5: 3Each morning
you listen to my prayer, as I bring my requests to you and wait for your
reply. (CEV)
3. How does the Lord feel about people who work all day?
Psalms 51: 10Create pure thoughts in me and make me
faithful again. 11Don't chase me away from you or take your
Holy Spirit away from me. Luke 11: 13As bad as you are,
you still know how to give good gifts to your children. But your heavenly
Father is even more ready to give the Holy Spirit to anyone who asks. (CEV)
4. What does the Holy Spirit do to help us?
Psalms 104: 14You let the earth produce grass for
cattle, plants for our food, 15wine to cheer us up, olive oil for our skin,
and grain for our health. Ecclesiastes 9: 7Be happy and
enjoy eating and drinking! God decided long ago that this is what you should
do. (CEV)
5. Why is it better to eat Twinkies together than to eat broccoli alone?
Matthew 4: 4Jesus answered, "The Scriptures say: 'No
one can live only on food. People need every word that God has spoken.'
" John 6: 27Don't work for food that spoils. Work for
food that gives eternal life. The Son of Man will give you this food, because
God the Father has given him the right to do so." 28"What exactly
does God want us to do?" the people asked. 29Jesus answered,
"God wants you to have faith in the one he sent." (CEV)
6. What bread are you today? All natural, rye, wheat, moldy, crusty,
fresh, easy to butter up?
Hebrews 4: 12What God has said isn't only alive and
active! It is sharper than any double-edged sword. His word can cut through
our spirits and souls and through our joints and marrow, until it discovers
the desires and thoughts of our hearts. 13Nothing is hidden
from God! He sees through everything, and we will have to tell him the
truth. (CEV)
7. How does the desire of you heart compel you?
